The Mind As Stage: Podcasting
Amore: A Big Star Story
Creating this portrait of my niece was a deep dive into the craft of podcasting—from the first interviews to the final mix.
The project began with hours of raw conversations with her family—her mom, aunts, grandma, and close friends—each offering personal memories and reflections. In the editing room, I shaped these voices into a cohesive narrative, balancing tones and perspectives to reveal the essence of Amaris.
Sound design played a major role: mixing laughter, ambient noise, music, and household sounds to create a living soundscape that mirrors her world. I wove in moments of narration to guide the story, adjusting pacing and flow to make the interviews feel natural and immersive.
Mastering involved refining every audio element to ensure the final piece evoked emotion, instead of just serving as a storytelling excercise.
This project taught me how storytelling, editing, sound mixing, and emotional authenticity come together within the practice of sound design and podcasting.

Brewing Thoughts was a podcast I co-hosted and produced - we captured candid conversations about college life, friendship, and everything in between. Each episode featured interviews with students, reality TV contestants, and other guests, offering fresh perspectives and plenty of humor. Behind the scenes, I learned the fundamentals of podcast production—recording, editing, sound design, mixing, and mastering—working primarily in REAPER to shape each episode's pacing and atmosphere. Collaborating closely with my co-host taught me how to blend multiple voices into a cohesive show, and how to balance spontaneity with structure in storytelling.
Brewing Thoughts was my first real introduction to the craft of podcasting and audio storytelling—and it laid the foundation for my later, more narrative-driven work in sound design, music, and writing.
